Touch a Truck

I read about this local event called Touch a Truck. Since my son points out any fire engine, school bus, "cop car" he sees or hears, I thought it might be something to enjoy.

Not knowing quite what to expect, we were overwhelmed with the number of trucks and emergency equipment there. They had every type of truck from a pick-up to an eighteen wheeler, cement truck to even a truck used to fix traffic lights. Every truck was open and all lights, sirens, and horns were in full working order. And make no mistake, the kids made sure they worked!

We were a bit overwhelmed, especially Claxton, with the number of people. There were thousands of people and we had to stand in line to get to any of the vehicles. So we picked what we knew would be some of Claxton’s favorites, and ended up being there for several hours.

Did I mention the horns, sirens and anything else that made noise? Our ears are still ringing!

Claxton eventually got used to all the people and seemed to really enjoy it. I guess we’ll be there next year, but we’ll definitely take the ear plugs!!
